EA Kills Origin for PC

As per the latest news story by The Verge, EA has introduced its all-new PC app, which kills the Origin platform, at least for Windows gamers.

The giant gaming firm confirms that the new EA PC app is now available to download.

A recent blog post from EA says that its "new optimized PC platform has officially arrived!"

The giant gaming firm says that the new PC app is set to completely replace Origin, making it the PC platform of EA.

The Verge notes in the same news story that current users of Origin for PC would soon receive an invitation asking them to download the new app.

EA notes that "by the time you receive your invite, all your games and content, including games previously installed, will be ready and waiting for you on the EA app."

However, Origin users could now get their hands on the all-new EA app for PC even before the invitation rolls out.

It is now available to download from the website of EA. But is it worth looking into?

What to Expect from EA's New PC App

According to a recent report by IGN, EA boldly touts its new app as the "fastest and lightest PC client to date."

It is worth noting that the new PC app has been in the beta stage for a couple of months before EA officially releases it to the stable channel.

The gaming firm highlights that its new gaming client is faster and more reliable than what Origin offers its users. Essentially, it says that the new app brings a more streamlined gaming experience.

But on top of these refinements in performance and reliability, it also comes with new features. The Verge reports that it now provides background updates and an option to automatically download games.
