Hybrids and Electric Vehicles Today

We're starting to see more electric vehicles hitting the market, hence, more automakers turning to hybrids. While most people go for gas-powered vehicles because they're cheaper, some go for hybrid cars because they're more efficient. However, the reality is that an electric vehicle is far more durable, provides better value and performs better than a hybrid one.

Hybrid cars are now a common sight on the road, and they have been around for more than a decade. The trend started more than a decade ago when Toyota finally released the Prius. Ever since then, other carmakers have followed suit and released their own hybrid models and variants. However, a decade from now, the upcoming electric vehicles might soon be the common sight on the road.

Not to mention, carmakers are making great strides in the EV department. The announcement about the Honda Prologue comes after other carmakers, like Jaguar and Porsche, working on their own EV models.

With the latest advances, it won't be surprising if the EV takes the place of the traditional gasoline-powered cars. However, there are still obstacles that EV manufacturers will have to overcome before this dream becomes a reality.

Apart from the concern about the range of the EV and its high price, the range anxiety is also a big issue. Fortunately, carmakers are looking into ways to address this problem. Tesla, for instance, offers a bigger battery pack that can increase its range.

Moreover, they're also looking into ways to make lithium-ion batteries mass-produced, less expensive and more durable. Among the ways is through recycling used batteries and make them more efficient.
