Steam Deck Now Available for Orders

Customers may now purchase Steam Deck in the market with no waiting, no queues, and no paid reservations, as reported by PC Gamer. Valve stated that they will be shipping the products directly to the users right after the purchase.

The company stated on the video that a "Supply chain issue kept us from producing Steam Decks fast enough to meet demand. But now, even though the rate of reservations keeps growing, we've been able to increase our manufacturing volume to meet demand."

Polygon stated that customers should expect an email from those who are currently waiting for their reservation. In a report last month from Distractify, the dismay of consumers is coming from the slow production of the product and its difficulty to obtain. Some consumers who pre-ordered the product before its release did not obtain the Deck at the right time.

Despite this, the orders are continuously increasing as customers seem to like the product because of the availability of the games on the portable platform. Users can purchase the Steam Deck on Steam Powered Store.

Docking Station

The official Steam Deck Docking Station was also announced in the video, which was presented first at the Tokyo Game Show a few weeks ago. This includes 3 x USB-A 3.1 Gen1 Ports, Display Port 1.4, and HDMI 2.0.

The dock offers a full-sized DisplayPort connection where users may connect their Deck output to their own monitors with 4K resolution at 120 Hz and even 8K resolution at 60Hz. This retails for $89 through Steam and users may expect the product one to two weeks after the purchase (for North America and the United Kingdom).

Software Updates

Aside from the two, Kotaku reported that Valve will also be adding software updates for SteamOS. Through this, the gaming experience will improve. Features were added to the Docking Station and other peripherals which include new settings for scaling, resolution, and refresh rate.

The company also added on-screen keyboard support for new characters such as Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Improvements to the touchscreen, trackpad typing, and responsiveness were also implemented.

Two Steam Input power features were redesigned that will make Virtual Menus invoke different kinds of commands to several games, especially to the difficult ones. Meanwhile, Mode Shifting lets users remap controls while holding the button down. A much more reliable and stable Offline Mode was also improved in the update.

Valve stated that these software updates were done as the company loves to meet the users' expectations so they encourage them in the video that they want to hear their feedback regarding the updates.
