How To Check Your Place on the Waitlist for Steam Deck

Despite initial criticism, customers generally seem to like Valve's new Steam Deck because some of the most graphically demanding games on Steam are reportedly playable on the new portable platform.

But even if you're already on the waitlist, the console has sadly proven quite difficult to obtain. Many customers who joined up before it was available are yet to have a chance to purchase the product, according to Distractify.

Interested purchasers had to wait a long time and prepare for a possible sellout, but those who were successful in having their credit card information accepted will be able to check the status of their orders.

Many Steam Decks have already been distributed and are being used to play some of the best games currently available on the market. The number of people still awaiting an update, however, outnumbers those fortunate few.

Hence, you might be wondering when you will receive your own Steam Deck? Follow these easy steps to learn about your status on the waitlist!

How To Check My Place In The Waitlist

1. Visit the Steam Deck page on the Steam website.

It is important to check Steam's website first to find out how long of a delay you might anticipate. To learn about the most recent information on where you stand in line, make sure you are logged into your account.

2. Check The Timeline of "Your Expected Order Availability"

According to Distractify, the timeframe for when you receive your Steam Deck will rely on when you registered your name to the waitlist.

Check the website to verify if your order is still scheduled to ship before the end of September if you had previously anticipated receiving an email during Q3 2022.

Important Reminders

Others who didn't manage to pre-order the device during the first time period may still be waiting for Q3 due to delays. Those who pre-ordered the item immediately will likely see an earlier date.

Although no specific delivery or shipment date is offered, any updates will be communicated to purchasers. Once the orders are dispatched, emails will be issued, and the website will specify when they can anticipate receiving them.

You will have 72 hours to complete your transaction when you receive your email. Unfortunately, if you don't finish your transaction within that window of time, the next person in line will get your space, and the reservation amount will be refunded to your account.

You are free to cancel your reservation for the Steam Deck at any time, but if it has been more than 30 days after you booked your reservation, you won't get your $5 deposit back.
