Elon Musk recently presented a four-point plan for bringing about peace in Ukraine via Twitter. His proposal involves making significant concessions to Russia, which Kyiv finds unacceptable.
However, his suggestions appear to be met with welcome arms from Russia, according to a report from the independent Russian news site Meduza.
Russia Welcomes Musk's Suggestions
To quote directly from Musk's tweet, his proposal for managing the current situation in Ukraine comprised of four points:
1. "Redo elections of annexed regions under UN supervision. Russia leaves if that is will of the people."
2. "Crimea formally part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchev's mistake)."
3. "Water supply to Crimea assured."
4. "Ukraine remains neutral."
Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy head of Russia's federal security council, responded to the tweet by comparing Elon Musk to Shtirlits, the famous and fictional undercover Russian spy.
"He's worthy of a promotion to the next officer's rank. In his next post he might say something like 'Ukraine is an artificial state'," Medvedev said in a post on his Telegram channel.
Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the Russian president, claimed that Russia is aware that Musk's proposal caused many people in Europe, the Ukraine, Poland, and the Baltic states to lose sleep.
Peskov also claimed that an invasion of "bots" was to blame for the poll's outcomes, which were posted by Musk on Twitter.
Dmitry Rogozin, the head of Roscosmos, joked in a post that Anna Kikina, the only female cosmonaut in active service for the Russian space agency and is scheduled to board a SpaceX Crew Dragon for the International Space Station, may have had something to do with Musk's shift of heart regarding the conflict.
"That's what a Russian woman has done to the American," Rogozin wrote on his Telegram channel.

Zelensky: Which Elon Musk Do You Like More?
Even though Russian officials welcomed Musk's suggestions with humor, some people were not happy about them as he was accused of promoting a Pro-Russian peace agreement.
President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to Musk by polling his 6.6 million Twitter followers to determine which version of Elon Musk they preferred: the "One who supports Ukraine" or "One who supports Russia." More than 83 percent of the one million respondents supported Ukraine.
Musk's remarks have surprised many people because he has been supporting Ukraine ever since Russia's invasion took place in February.
In fact, SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet has been keeping at least 150,000 Ukrainians connected daily as they remain to live in the war-torn European country. A Ukrainian government official revealed this data in a tweet in May.
Vice Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov posted on Twitter that Starlink's help has been significant to Ukrainians ever since the invasion.
