But, in his official LinkedIn account, he went to the Todaiki Gakuen High School (1978-1981). He was quite active during this period.
In high school, Ito specifically joined the light music club. This shows that Masayasu is pretty talented when it comes to music.
After that, he studied thermal engineering from 1982 until 1986. He took his engineering course at Waseda University.
Ito also decided to work for Sony in 1986. However, he only started as a regular employee focused on developing in-car audio equipment.
Masayasu Ito: SIE's Executive Vice President
According to Bloomberg's official report, Ito began working at Sony's Computer Entertainment (which will be called Sony Interactive Entertainment) back in 2000.
At first, he was only focusing on the development of PS hardware. But, thanks to his efforts, he was promoted after a few years.
In 2014, he finally became SCE's executive vice president. He remained as the company's executive VP even after the department was renamed Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC back in 2016.
Masayasu's board design is claimed to have a reputation inside and outside the company. Because of this, many Sony employees appreciate his efforts that helped the company's growth.
A former Sony executive even said that PS4 would not be completed without Ito.
Will Ito Really Retire?
At first, many sources claimed that Masayasu would completely leave the company once he retires, which is expected to happen on Oct. 1.
However, this detail was clarified by Yahoo News, Bloomberg, and other trusted sources. Sony said that Ito would let go of his position, but he would still work for the company.
The executive vice president will specifically handle Sony's mobility project and advisory capacity for the near term.
