In a recent interview, the billionaire explained that female employees are insufficient.

He added that there's no good excuse for women not to be in the technology sector.

"I think the essence of technology and its effect on humanity depends upon women being at the table," said Cook via BBC News.

The billionaire further explained that if people want to have great technological solutions, then having diverse views in the tech industry is a must.

Via 9To5Mac's latest report, Cook explained that if there's no diverse workforce, then the tech sector won't be able to achieve the things it has today.

This just shows that the billionaire really values women working in the technology industry. Because of this, Tim wanted to diversify Apple's workforce.

In 2021, 35% of the iPhone maker's employees were comprised of females. As of writing, the tech giant manufacturer already has five female executives among its 22 leadership roles.

Cook decided to launch the new all-female Foundations program in the United Kingdom to show their appreciation of women's efforts in the tech sector.

He confirmed this latest initiative on Sept. 26, via his official Twitter account.

Cook Meets Female App Founders

When the new Apple Foundations program was launched, Cook met some female app founders. Three of these tech developers decided to join the initiative.

  • Alexia de Broglie (created the personal finance education app "Your Juno")
  • Ariana Alexander-Sefre (runs the wellness app called "Spoke")
