Another Nintendo Switch Pro leak reveals how the next handheld device could be packing an Nvidia chip under its hardware. The rumors of a new chip have started to surface, adding to the list of rumors about the Pro version of the handheld device.

Nintendo Switch Pro Leaks and How They End Up on Reddit

According to the story by Tom's Guide, there have been a lot of rumors regarding the Nintendo Switch Pro, but so far, none of them have "come to fruition." This, however, doesn't stop more rumors from coming in regarding the upcoming handheld console.

The latest rumor comes from an Nvidia employee that allegedly confirmed that the upcoming Nintendo Switch Pro device will be using the company's chip. Just like a lot of other leaks, this one comes straight from Reddit.

Subreddit Revealed a Leaked Email from an Nvidia Employee

In a subreddit called Gaming Leaks and Rumors which shared a leaked email coming from an Nvidia employee. The email looked like it had given confirmation regarding the Tegra239 SoC chip existing.

The alleged confirmation even confirmed the SoC to be complete with an 8-core CPU. Rumors of the Tegra239 have been going on ever since June.

Leak Involves the Tegra 239 Chip Not the Previously Rumored 234 SoC

A certain Twitter leaker known as kopite7kimi claimed that the next Nintendo Switch would be featuring a Tegra 234 SoC that was customized. The claim, however, specified that it would be packing a 12-core CPU which is not the case in the more recent leak.

Tom's Guide, however, specifies that the problem with leaks and rumors is that it is hard to pinpoint which ones are true and which ones aren't. An article by TechRadar, however, provided more reference to the Tegra 239 chip in March via a leak.

Rumored Tegra 239 Chip to Come with the 'NVN2' Reference

The article reportedly referenced the Tegra 239 chip coming with the "NVN2" reference which is suspected to be an NVN graphic's API follow-up for the Nintendo Switch. The Reddit thread was also able to mention that the API contains the upscaling tech references to the Nvidia DLSS 2.2 as well as support for raytracing.

Although no confirmation was given regarding a more powerful Nintendo Switch coming to the market, different leaks regarding the Tegra239 would still suggest that there could be something coming out.

Tegra 239 Concluded to be as Powerful as the PS4

The expected release date when the next device could come out remains unclear and there is still a lot to be filled in regarding what performance should users expect. Reddit made the conclusion that the Tegra 239 would be as powerful as the PS4.

The article by Tom's Guide noted that they will remain skeptical regarding the device's performance until the official Nintendo Switch Pro specs are revealed.
