Flipkart is currently selling iPhone 13 for Rs 50,000 ($613) as part of the most anticipated Big Billions Day sale. While Apple's next-gen handset is sitting at a reasonably low price, some customers are complaining about their canceled orders from the e-commerce platform.
iPhone 13 Orders Got Canceled on Flipkart
One of the most festive sales in India is the Big Billion Days Sale. It's somewhat comparable to Amazon Prime Day. The major shopping occasion will run from Sept. 23 to 30, so you still have several days left to buy your favorite items on Flipkart.
Apparently, some Flipkart customers are disappointed with what they've experienced recently upon placing orders for iPhone 13.
According to News 18, the e-commerce store suddenly canceled the Apple smartphone's ongoing orders. While Flipkart claims that more than 70% of iPhone orders have successfully reached the customers, a small portion of the ongoing transaction remains on hold.
"Flipkart is a customer-first e-commerce marketplace and always ensures that customers' interests are protected. We understand that close to 70 percent of all iPhone orders placed across cities including Guntur, Gorakhpur, and Siliguri have been successfully delivered by the sellers," the company said in its recent statement.
Some buyers managed to snag iPhone 13 for a whopping price of Rs 47,990 ($589). These are the early birds who took advantage of the huge discount that we have seen on Apple's 2021 smartphone for the first time.
However, some people who placed their orders just slightly later than the other customers complained about Flipkart's cancellation tactic.
Flipkart is Facing a Backlash on Twitter
In another report by Money Control, some Flipkart customers took their disappointment on Twitter. One woman tweeted that her iPhone 13 order was supposed to be delivered on Sept. 23, but she was surprised that it was canceled at the last minute without her consent.
The hashtags #BoycottFlipkart and #Flipkartscam trended for some time, but people could not see any effort from the company to resolve the ongoing issue.
Another complainant wrote that he ordered some items from Flipkart's Big Billion Days. However, he discovered that after 20 hours, the shop canceled all of his orders without any explanation.
"Totally manipulating the nation by doing this type of cheap things," the person posted on Twitter.
Why Did Flipkart Cancel the iPhone 13 Orders?
As of press time, Flipkart has not yet stated any announcement about the matter. The company only leaves notifications to the users who have their orders canceled.
The reason behind the canceled orders is not yet determined at the time. While there's no clear explanation why it's happening, News18 assumes that the store is only overwhelmed by the "massive" demand for Apple's handsets.
If you have no luck scoring iPhone 13 because of the anomaly, you might want to check some offers for the Google Pixel 6a and Xbox Series X from the same shop. So far, no complaints have been heard from the users who have purchased these devices.
