Mojang announced a new project for Minecraft: Education Edition where the company will team up with BBC Earth as reported by Gamepur.
This partnership is based on Frozen Planet II by natural historian David Attenborough and will tackle exploring adventures as they present a new experience that will be entertaining for its audience and educational at the same time.
As per the press release, "The team at Mojang Studios believes it has a responsibility to use Minecraft to build a better world and inspire generations of game changers, especially around themes of global citizenship and sustainability."

The downloadable content will show the struggles of different animals from different points of view. The announcement also said that it will make the players reflect on the animals' hardship by spawning a player in the middle of an ice-plains biome.
Different animals will be part of this such as walruses, eagles, leopards, eagles, and polar bears that were shown in the trailer. Polar bears will be protecting their cubs in the game as they cross ice floes.
Frozen Planet II Series Producer Elizabeth White said that looking at how both young and old viewers are engaged in the natural world shows how powerful it is via True Achievements.
She added, "We are delighted to partner with Minecraft on this range of educational computer games which will enable children to interact with stories inspired by the series through gameplay and learn more about the challenges of these habitats through the additional lesson content."
The educational contents of Minecraft have always been free, and the same goes for Frozen Planet. Players can obtain this on Minecraft Marketplace and will go live tomorrow, September 22nd with no end date. This is also purchasable even if players do not enable their Education toggle.
Minecraft: Education Edition
This will be different than the traditional Minecraft as Education Edition aims for players to experience and learn through exploration and immersion as reported by USA Today.
Minecraft Education Edition's most recent project is the Te Ao Māori experience where players were introduced to Māori architecture and language using objects, vocabulary, and lesson plans.
Minecraft's Other Collaboration
Minecraft also collaborated with Spongebob Squarepants as downloadable content in July this year, making Frozen Planet II one of the TV Programs collaboration of Mojang.
This DLC will give players an experience as they explore Bikini Bottom together with the other characters from the series. Meanwhile, this will cost players 1,340 Minecraft coins, unlike Frozen Planet's free purchase.
