DEADROP's Second Snapshot Is Now Live; Features New Weapons, Vehicles, and More

This latest update is the foundation of the game's core PvP gunplay.

After being delayed for a few weeks, Snapshot CL 3184 is now making its way to the Dr. Disrespect FPS game. This second build of the new online shooter game "DEADROP" includes a slew of new features.

Game developer Midnight Society has released exciting new content for its first-of-its-kind vertical extraction shooter (VES) game. Midnight Society revealed its first PVP systems and an early look at the game's inventory management in this snapshot.

DEADROP Snapshot CL 3184 Is Now Live

Back in July, we learned that the recently discovered AAA video game studio Midnight Society by YouTuber Dr Disrespect, is creating a high-end, NFT-integrated "vertical extraction shooter." The game known as DEADROP from Midnight Society, which at the time was known as simply "Project Moon," combines the "scale and scope of battle royale player counts" with arena shooter mechanics.

The second "DEADROP" snapshot is the game's first attempt to give its player base access to a brand new PvP arena known as the Proving Ground.

DEADROP Snapshot Features New PvP System

The snapshot announcement shares that new features are also waiting for players in the game's player hideout. In the new Proving Ground, players will compete against other shooters for the ultimate prize, dubbed THE DEADROP by the game.

Dexerto reports that the Proving Grounds allows players to battle their way through a sizable, untextured map that has both indoor and outdoor zones.

According to the most recent developer blog, the map also contains numerous crates that can be opened to reveal a total of 12 weapons. There are four different pistol, shotgun, and rifle variations, each with its own stats, attributes, and recoil patterns.

On a designated special server, this new update will also include gunplay, looting, and extraction. The snapshot also provided a peek inside the Garage and improved inventory management systems.

The new Garage will also give us a sneak peek at the game's cool customizable cars. Furthermore, the snapshot included a HUD that displayed health status, weapon status, extraction information, POI information, and other information.

If you want to send the game developers your thoughts on the new snapshot, you can do so here. Because the game is still in its early stages, we can expect more exciting features to appear soon.

DEADROP Is Advancing Way Too Quickly Say Critics

Since the project's announcement in December 2021, the Midnight Society team has completed more than 3000 check-ins, which were included in the recently launched build. Several video game developers warned that DEADROP's excessively quick game development might reach a breaking point early on.

As stated by a Win.gg report, Midnight Society faced criticism for its development strategy a few months ago because many developers thought it was advancing too quickly to be practical. Now it appears that some of the criticisms may have been accurate after the budding game announced delays.
