Microsoft Surface Pro 9, Laptop 5 Specs, Price Leak Ahead of October Launch

It looks like these new Surface offerings are more expensive than their older siblings.

The latest leak comes after rumors predict that the renowned tech giant is introducing its all-new 2-in-1 device and laptop in October.

Microsoft Surface Pro 9, Laptop 5 Leak: What to Expect

A news report by The Verge says that several rumors predict that Microsoft is planning to introduce the next-generation Surface Pro 9 2-in-1 and the Laptop 5.

The Redmond-based tech giant has yet to confirm the launch date of these devices. However, early reports hint that it would not be long enough. The two new Surface offerings are expected to get the shimmer of the spotlight by next month.

But before Microsoft officially launched its new Surface products, its specs, pricing, and more seemingly leaked.

The Verge notes that the upcoming Surface Laptop 5 and Surface Pro 9 sport the latest generation of Intel CPUs. With that, it looks like these new bad boys offer significant performance bumps over its older siblings, the Surface Laptop 4 and the Surface Pro 8.

To be more precise with the CPU upgrades, the entry models of the two upcoming devices are rumored to feature an Intel Core i5-1235U, according to the latest news by Win Future. While on the other hand, the more premium variants are set to rock an Intel Core i7-1255U.

Meanwhile, the storage in these new Microsoft devices is likely to go as high as 1 TB and 16 GB of RAM.

New ARM-Based Variant for Surface Pro 9 5G, Laptop 5?

On top of that, the early leak also hints that Microsoft could likely offer an ARM-based processor option.

In the same report, Win Future adds that the tech giant is looking to introduce a new Microsoft SQ3 processor alongside its new Surface products. It is to note that it is based on a familiar Qualcomm chip, none other than the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3.

A Notebook Check report notes that the upcoming Surface Pro 9, which supports a 5G connection, is set to feature the Microsoft SQ3. The latest leak also claims that the Surface Laptop 5 is getting the Snapdragon-based processor.

How Much are Surface Pro 9, Laptop 5 Priced

The Verge notes that the Surface Pro 9 sells for roughly $1,288, whereas the Laptop 5 starts at around $1,189.

The pricing of both is a bit more expensive than their predecessors. The Pro 8 is around $100 cheaper, while the Laptop 4 is more affordable to the tune of $50.
