A version of the Microsoft Surface Tablet powers the National Football League for its many reviews in plays and team strategy available for all the teams and players of the league. Microsoft said that it is "tough enough to withstand the NFL," and that still applies to tonight's game between the Buccaneers and the Saints, where Tampa Bay's Tom Brady threw the tablet during the heated match.
Microsoft Surface's chief Panos Panay assured the public that the Surface Tablet will be fine.
Microsoft Surface Tablet to Survive After Tom Brady's Throw?
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints game last Sunday brought a roller coaster of emotions to both fans and teams of both sides, with Tom Brady displaying another outburst by throwing the team's Microsoft Surface tablet on the sidelines.
The Buccs were losing early on against the Saints, leading to Brady's wild behavior where he first threw his helmet before the Surface tablet following an incomplete pass.
Despite this display of a powerful throw from Brady against his tablet, Microsoft Surface Chief Panos Panay assured the world that the device will "be just fine" via his Instagram Story.
Tampa Bay won against the New Orleans Saints 20-10 on the game's full time.
Surface Tablets for the NFL: Built to Withstand the League
According to NFL's Football Operations, Microsoft and the league reached a deal to supply them with an off-shelf Microsoft Surface tablet for teams and players to use during every match. Here, it would display their plays and strategies, as well as the opposing team's players and highlights during the match so they may respond accordingly and overturn their situations.
The league said that these Surface tablets are "tough enough" for the NFL, and they can withstand the occasional drops from players and coaches.
Surface Tablets and Computers
The Surface Pro, tablets, and computers available to the public now seem like delicate technology from Microsoft, and it is something that should be handled with care if one wants to use it in the long run. It is a fairly slim touch screen device from the software company, and most of the publicly-available Surfaces seem fragile to the touch.
At least the public is now seeing more options for its maintenance and repair, especially with the many laws that affect Microsoft's requirement to the public in bringing it into authorized centers for parts replacement or its fix. The Right to Repair law applies to Microsoft's technology as well, affecting its Surface tablets and other hardware.
These off-shelf Microsoft Surface tablets were made right for the NFL, and it only shows that they can withstand damages too, as evidenced in their use in the league.
Famed quarterback Tom Brady does one hell of a toss in the league, possessing one of the most skilled arms which throw high-velocity footballs in his career. With Brady throwing a Microsoft Surface tablet during one of his tantrum moments, one could only deduce that he is using his full might to do this, but the Surface chief is not that worried about the device's integrity.
