Microsoft's Surface Laptop Go 2 was officially released, flaunting the 11th generation Intel processor along with other exciting upgrades.

Microsoft's Surface Laptop Go 2 Release

Ahead of the official release of the Surface Laptop Go 2, its retail listing leaked online, unraveling its specs before Microsoft formally introduced it.

As per a news story by Engadget, the retail listing of the all-new Surface Laptop Go on a South Korean website leaked, snatching the chance for Microsoft to surprise us with its timely upgrades.

The listing exposed the new Intel chip and graphics card that powers the new Surface laptop, an upgrade from the 2020 release of the Surface Go.

According to a recent report by ArsTechnica, following the recent leak, Microsoft made the new Surface Laptop Go 2 official, marking the replacement of its 2020 sibling.

The announcement straight from Microsoft confirmed that the listing leak got the accurate specs ahead of the official release of the Surface Go 2.

Surface Laptop Go 2: What's New

The next-gen Surface Go comes with an 11th gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor, which ArsTechnica finds a bit outdated.

To be fair, though, this chip is still powerful enough to run heavy tasks. Not to mention that its processor is an upgrade from what the 2020 Surface Go offered its users.

On the other hand, the outside specs of the all-new Surface are the same as its 2020 sibling.

For instance, the display of the new Laptop Go 2 still sports a 12.4 multi-touch screen, which supports up to 1536x1024 resolution.

The weight, size, and even the ports of the new Go 2 remains identical to its previous iteration. It is still light enough at 2.48 lbs when compared to most laptops these days.

It features ports like the slowly vanishing 3.5mm headphone jack, the good ol' reliable USB-A, and the faster USB-C connections. In addition to these standard holes, there is also a Surface Connect port.

Essentially, we are getting most of the same specs, but the new Surface Go focuses on faster performance. But how is it priced?

Surface Laptop Go 2 Price

The Surface Laptop Go 2 of Microsoft sells for a starting price of $600.

It already includes a 128GB NVMe SSD. But the bad news is that it still offers 4GB of RAM. To get at least 8GB of RAM, the Laptop Go 2 increases its price up to $100, making it a total of $700.
