The Twitter account of Fortnite Status confirmed that the game will be undergoing downtimes this September 18, Sunday, at 2:00 AM ET. While waiting, players are encouraged to download the V22.00 update for them to experience the new season after the downtime.

No estimated time on how long downtime will last but based on the other updates last season, players will just have to wait for three to four hours. But the developer recently announced on the teasers that the new patch will be much bigger compared to the past ones as it improves its battle royale modes.

A thread has also been tweeted by Epic that states "Chrome" in capitalized letters. The thread stated, "it Consumes everytHing. fRee them. but watch Out. you Might be nExt," following the teasers.

Finale Live Event

Last season, a Fortnite live event happened where cinematics and story-driven events happened for fans to enjoy as the game transitionsed to a new season. Unfortunately, no announcements or plans regarding an event that will happen as Season 3 concludes.

As Game Spot reported, fans expected an event to happen this weekend as some rumors speculated a few weeks ago that Epic is currently working on it. A note regarding the event was also expected in the 21.51 update, but as per data miners, nothing has been included.

Because of this, the report stated that the transition to a new season might be lowkey than usual.

Season 4 Theme

Epic has been teasing the fans for the upcoming season with pictures that were posted on Twitter. As of the moment, four teasers have already been rolled out for different gaming platforms.

These teasers featured hands of Emo Meowscles for Epic Games Store, Spider Gwen for PlayStation Store, Remixed Paradigm for Nintendo, and for Xbox Store, an unrevealed character who does have a Chrome hand.

Spider-Gwen, the heroine from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, is the latest Marvel character to join the battle royale of Fortnite, joining Doctor Strange, Thor, Dare Devil, Groot, Wolverine, and more. Spider-Gwen will be the 50th Marvel playable character in the game.
