Ford's 2024 Mustang includes a quirky "Remove Rev" feature that works straight from its key fob.
The giant automaker introduced the new remote revving feature as the all-new 2024 Mustang debuts during the Detroit Auto Show.
Ford's 2024 Mustang Remote Rev Feature
The renowned automaker is back at it again at introducing the next generation of its iconic nameplate, Mustang.
While the seventh-generation Ford Mustang still rocks a fuel-powered engine, specifically a loud Coyote V8 or EcoBoost four-cylinder option, it learned some new interesting tricks.
According to a recent report by CNET, one of the new features of the 2024 Mustang is the Remote Rev feature. Plus, the new muscle car also offers an electronic hand brake.
Although it is really hard to tell how necessary this new function actually is, it sure brings some fun to the iconic Ford muscle car, but more on that later.
The Remote Rev might be an entertaining feature for some enthusiasts, but CNET notes that the neighbors of 2024 Mustang owners are less likely to be fans of it.
Key fobs these days have evolved immensely. It now includes features like the remote start. But never has an automaker stuffed a remote revving function until Ford does it with the Mustang.
As per the news story by Slash Gear, the fancy new features on the sixth-gen Mustang might be part of an attempt of Ford to attract Gen-Z and Millennial folks.
It is worth noting that the American carmaker discloses that it is heavily investing in new car features that would suit the interest of younger generations.
The new Remote Rev function might be a cringy addition to older fans of Mustang, but it looks like Ford included it rather for the Gen-Zs out there.
Mustang Remote Rev: How it Works
As mentioned, the new Remote Rev feature works straight from the key fob of the all-new Mustang.
CNET notes that holding down a button on the key fob easily triggers the remote revving function. The sound profile of the Remote Rev is meant to sound the same as the automaker has set a specific RPM for it.
So even if you are a few steps away from your vehicle, you could press a button to make the Mustang lash out some loud V8 roar.

It enables drivers to use a handbrake that looks like the traditional chunky one, which allows users to drift while on Track drive mode.
