Facebook's Latest Update Supports iOS 16'S Lock Screen Widgets

Meta has released an update for Facebook that supports iPhones' newest lock screen widgets following the release of Apple's newest update, making them one of the iOS 16-ready applications, as per the report of TechCrunch.

Two lock screen widgets have been added for users to choose from, the "Top Updates" and "Birthdays at a Glance."

For Birthdays at a Glance, two sizes will be offered to choose from. The smaller display has the cake icon together with a number of celebrants for this day. The larger display is a rectangle widget that displays the names of your friends that celebrate their birthdays today.

For the Top Updates, this will feature the most recent notifications, including some of the updates from your friend's postings.

How to Add Facebook Widgets

Simply hold the Lock Screen of your iPhone for a "Customize" button to appear. By clicking this and tapping the row specifically for widgets, a Facebook widget will be offered. The two mentioned above will be offered for users to include in their lock screens (Top Updates & Birthdays at Glance).

iOS 16-Ready Applications

Aside from Facebook, 9To5Mac reported more applications that will be compatible with the newly updated software system. The applications that will be mentioned below implemented the widgets on the iPhones' lock screen in every different way.

One of them is Widgetsmith. This will improve the users' widget editor as it adds different styles, tools, and more.

For traveling, Flighty is an app that users can include on the lock screen widget to track flights in a more convenient way. This will include a progress bar for an ongoing in-flight, even if you are offline.

Apollo is an application for Reddit users where different features can be added to your lock screen. This includes trending post widgets, karma widgets, most recent widgets, random subreddit widgets, and more.

For relaxation, Dark Noise will give users an option to play different noises on their lock screens. This also includes customization options on what you will input on the chosen widget,

Different applications related to the users' health are also circulating on the internet as a lot of them are already compatible with the latest update.

This includes Pestle, where you can view your meal plan right away or even healthy recipes. Cardiobot is also compatible and monitors your heart data and presents an analysis for heart rate recovery.

The Parcel application updates the users in the lock screen widget regarding their packages and countdowns for their orders.

Lastly, for Podcasts, the Overcast that shows unfinished and newly published podcasts or chosen playlists of the user will be shown on the screens.
