A Radeon RX 6900 XT was spotted dropping 32% below its MSRP to just $679. After a long period of inflated prices for the GPU, could this be a sign that things are improving?
Radeon RX 6900 XT Spotted Selling $320 Less Compared to Its $999.99 MSRP
As spotted by Frank Azor, AMD has just dropped a list of different Radeon RX 6000-series GPU deals on the blog site. One particular GPU that stood out was the Radeon RX 6900 XT which dropped by 32% below its official MSRP.
The Radeon RX 6900 XT was spotted selling $320 less than its MRSP of $999.99 at a lower $679.99. To add, the GPU was regarded as the "fastest GPU" coming from the Big Navi family of AMD.
Radeon RX 6950 XT was Previously Listed by the Same Retailer for $1,199.99
According to the story by Tom's Hardware, the Radeon RX 6950 XT has been able to take over as the flagship SKU. The GPU is reportedly one of the top graphics cards within the market and at its new price of just $679, the article notes that "it's worth your consideration."
The thing about this deal is that it is only available at Microcenter for in-store pickup making it harder for everyone to purchase the Radeon RX 6900 XT at that price. The retailer had listed the same GPU in the past for $1,199.99 and now, it's almost half of its peak price.
What are the Radeon RX 6900 XT Specs
The GPU being sold by Microcenter at just $679 is reportedly the same model that AMD is selling for MSRP on their own website. The difference, however, is that PowerColor will be included in the packaging.
The AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT is holding a Navi 21 silicon that comes with 80 compute units or massive 5,120 stream processors. The GPU is running with a 1,825 MHz base clock boasting game and boost clock speeds that peak at both 2,015 MHz and 2,250 MHz depending on the conditions.

AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT Compared to the Radeon RX 6950 XT and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti
The new Big Navi GPUs will be packed with 16GB of 16 Gbps GDDR6 memory throughout a 256-bit memory interface. The Radeon RX 6900 XT will be offering 512 GBps of memory bandwidth due to its memory interface.
The AMD RX 6900 XT is just lagging behind in terms of performance by a little compared to the Radeon RX 6950 XT and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti. When it comes to the Radeon RX 6950 Ti, the most affordable option is still selling on Amazon for $949.99.
To put things into perspective, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti's cheapest price is selling at $740. Although a small gap in performance, the Radeon RX 6900 XT is being priced significantly still less at $679 but the gap in price for some might not be that much to get better performance.
