The Apple App Store is reportedly set to show more ads in various parts of the online marketplace before 2022 ends.
A recent report says that the expansion of App Store ad slots would see the light of day in time for the fast-approaching holiday season.
Apple App Store is Getting More Ads
You may have missed it, but the Apple App Store shows some ads to its users when they are looking to install new apps on their iPhones, iPads, and Macs.
While the App Store already includes some ads, the iPhone maker is reportedly looking to increase it much more.
According to a report by Mashable, ads are already appearing in the Search tab of the App Store, particularly the very first result.
It is to note that the renowned tech giant tries to set them apart from actual search results. It sports a small light blue tag that outright says it is an ad. And on top of that, it also gets a lighter background than the rest.
However, Apple seems to be not satisfied with this ad slot alone.
Back in July, 9to5 Mac reported that Apple is looking to stuff more ads on various sections of its App Store. For instance, the homepage might see more ads once the expansion begins.
Besides the Today homepage tab, the iPhone maker is reportedly planning to roll out ads on the product pages on its app marketplace as well.
In turn, if you are checking out the App Store listing of an app, let's say BeReal, you might start seeing ads from other budding social media platforms.
But when the App Store ad expansion initially came to light, the early report has yet to disclose when Apple plans to start showing more ads.

The news outlet reports that Apple has sent invitations to various developers, which discusses the plan of the tech giant to expand its ads on its app marketplace.
The founder of Mobile Dev Memo, Eric Seufert, went straight to Twitter to share the invitation with his followers.
It tells developers that there are "new opportunities coming to Apple Search Ads." The invitation further reads that they "can promote apps across the App Store to engage even more customers this holiday season."
So it looks like the iPhone maker is dishing out more ads on the App Store just in time for the coming holidays.
