Meta reveals that Meta Connect Conference will be held on October 11 at 1:00 PM ET/10:00 AM PT as reported first by The Verge. This can be watched via Livestream to catch the launch of the new VR headset.
In a blog post that the company has made, the one-day virtual event will give an update regarding the progress in the metaverse. "Now in its ninth year, Connect brings together AR/VR developers, creators, marketers, and more to celebrate the industry and its growth, while also exploring what it will take to bring the metaverse to life," they added.
Last year, the conference made headlines for its rebranding and revealing the new name Meta to the world. Connect 2021 presented 'Polar' which focused on AR and VR filter creation for content creators.
New Virtual Reality Headset
Meta Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg confirmed Project Cambria last month, the code name for the said VR headset will arrive in October as he confirmed on a podcast with Joe Rogan. He posted a teaser with a photo of him on Facebook testing the headset with the caption, "See you at Meta Connect on Oct 11."
This will include eye and facial tracking and color passthrough as he confirmed. It will also offer a much higher resolution screen compared to the Oculus Quest 2 which retails for $399.99.

Horizon Worlds Updates
The CEO also teased major updates to the avatar graphics of Horizon which will be announced at the Connect. Mixed reviews were given to the company regarding the VR-based platform after its release in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Spain.
Because of criticisms, the company has been talking about plans for developing a web version of Horizon Worlds which will provide tools for creators and developers. According to TechCrunch, the company might also announce some brand new safety tools as concerns from users about security and privacy have been circulating in the virtual worlds.
After posting a screenshot from the Horizon Worlds, Zuckerberg earned a lot of mockeries and generated a lot of memes since the visuals for the platform offered 'poor quality. He responded and acknowledged what was lacking in the company's offering. New screenshots were provided by him and major updates, especially many advanced graphics, are already seen compared to the old screenshots.
The flagship metaverse application lets users create their own experiences and hang out virtually. Billions of dollars have already been spent on developing the metaverse as they are dedicated to this platform. Progress regarding the expenses is also expected to talk about at the conference to know what Meta's next plans are.
