Last Aug. 27, many Xbox fans noticed that a new branding for Xbox had been circulating on the Internet. One of the first to alert the public about this additional subscription plan for the Xbox Game Pass is a blogger that covers developments from Microsoft and Windows.
Aggiornamenti Lumia, a Windows insider, posted a tweet that features the Xbox Game Pass logo with the words "Friends & Family" at the bottom. Online speculations that this new branding might be the new Xbox Game Pass family subscription option spread quickly.
Microsoft previously revealed its intention to provide a family plan option for its Xbox Game Pass on Aug. 4. Following this announcement, it was confirmed that this plan would permit a maximum of five individuals to share a single Xbox Game pass membership.
Additionally, the announcement noted that subscriptions might only be shared among individuals from the same country. The purported "Friends and Family" plan has been the subject of rumors since March.
Xbox Game Pass Unveils 'Friends and Family' Plan
A Gamerant report informs us today that online rumors and leaks about the said Xbox Game Pass come into fruition today as the Microsoft-owned video game publisher finally revealed the said plan on their official website. Finally, the Xbox Game Pass, which has access to a huge selection of exciting video games, now has a plan that multiple users may enjoy.
According to Xbox, the new membership option is compatible with the current family settings as well. Main users can keep monitoring children's gaming behaviors, such as screen time, content limits, and friend requests, using the Xbox Family Settings app.
When users add family group members to their Ultimate plan, all the family group settings are carried over to each member. This confirms that the new plan can prove to add value to the already existing local family share option for the Xbox.
Pricing and Features
The Verge tells us that for €21.99 per month in Ireland and 49,900 COP in Colombia, the new subscription will let Xbox Game Pass members share with up to four other friends or family members. The mentioned countries are where Xbox Game Pass ran their limited testing for the new "Friends and Family" plan.
Given that each person covered by the plan can have their own Xbox account and profile, this package, which costs roughly $25, may turn out to be a great value for money. The other four members can also save their games, keep track of their in-game achievements, and get their own individual game recommendations.
Obviously, every "Friends and Family" subscriber and its members can play at the same time. Need not to mention. They can all play the same game which means more multiplayer online games to play together with the family and some friends.
One more important feature of this Xbox Game Pass subscription is the EA Play membership which can provide access to a large collection of EA games for console and PC.
