A new Xbox Game Pass rumor broke out, and it resulted in a lot of gamers not being happy with what might happen to the service. The rumor sounds like players should no longer expect "any more day-one releases from third-party publishers" throughout the year.
A New Rumor Says the Xbox Game Pass Will Stop Bringing Day One Third-Party Releases
According to the story by Comic Book, recently, Microsoft has been making a great effort when it comes to the Game Pass in order to bring notable third-party titles during the first day of their release. Some of these titles include massive games like "Outriders," "Rainbow Six Quarantine," and "MLB The Show 22."
Although Microsoft will still continue to add new Xbox Game Pass titles, the article notes that it sounds like gamers should stop expecting new "day-one releases from third-party publishers for the remainder of 2022."
Nick Baker Explains His Theory Regarding What the Changes Might Become
As per Nick Baker, an insider, Microsoft seems like it does not have any other third-party titles that are lined up to release on Xbox Game Pass on day one throughout the remaining months of this year. Baker noted that he was not 100% sure that this was the case and explained in an episode of XboxEra Podcast that he does not think that high-profile third-party titles will land on the Game Pass the same day that it arrives on all platforms.
The high-profile games he mentioned he doesn't think will land on the Xbox Game Pass include "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2," "Hogwarts Legacy," "Gotham Knights," and others. Should the rumor be true, this would reportedly make the lineup for the back half of 2022 for Xbox "quite dismal."

Lineup for 2023 Looks Untarnished with Massive Titles Expected
It was noted that not only will this result in the service not getting any notable third-party titles that are expected to be quite weak as well. Although the 2023 lineup looks stronger with the Xbox getting titles like "Redfall," "Starfield, and "Forza Motorsport," the same might not be said by the games leading to the end of the year.
The article by Comic Book stresses that this is just a rumor and has not yet been officially confirmed. This means that there could still be a possibility for the Xbox Game Pass to release day one third-party titles on its service before the end of the year.
It also notes that statements coming from Baker should be taken "with a grain of salt." Despite Microsoft not landing any major third-party releases before the end of the year, there is still reason to believe that Game Pass will still be releasing other interesting titles throughout the next few months.
