Let's be real. Football fans may disagree, but the best part of the Super Bowl is obviously the commercials. Where else are you going to see so many hilarious, heartwarming and huh-inspiring moments in one place? Nowhere, that's where.
As important as these ads are to experience, it's still easy to miss them. You might be arguing with your friends over a play, gorging yourself on some Buffalo wings or taking a potty break and miss a celeb cameo or cute animal appearance. You don't want that to happen, do you?
Luckily, NBC Sports knows what's up, and it just launched a new Tumblr that will house all of the Super Bowl commercials from the night for your viewing pleasure right after they air. That sure was nice of them.
"Tumblr is a visually-rich, social-friendly platform that is perfect to showcase the Super Bowl TV ads," Rick Cordella, the senior vice president and general manager of NBC Sports' Digital Media, said in a statement. "We are optimistic this experience will be the first step in creating a more robust NBC Sports destination on Tumblr."
Gone are the days when you had to search YouTube for each Super Bowl ad you missed during its original airing. Being able to find and watch all of the Super Bowl commercials in one place like this certainly makes me happy. Using Tumblr as the platform to provide us this convenience is also a smart move on NBC Sports' part. Now living in the days where the goal is to go viral, Tumblr has a young, passionate audience that could help those Super Bowl ads take on a new life online and ultimately reach more people, which is actually more the goal than just entertaining us, you know.
Though the Super Bowl commercials won't be on Tumblr until they air during the big game on Feb. 1, the page is live right now. It's really just filled with Super Bowl-themed memes and social media posts, but there are worse ways to spend your time online.
In addition to this Tumblr, the Super Bowl is actually going way digital this year. Yesterday, NBCUniversal announced that viewers will be able to stream 11 continuous hours of content on Super Bowl Sunday. This means you can watch the Super Bowl online without having to log in with any of your cable provider credentials as usual so people can try out NBC's TV Everywhere content for free.
Forget your big screen TVs, folks. This year's Super Bowl is all about that digital.
