American ice-cream chain Baskin-Robbins has partnered with Nintendo to release a series of Splatoon 3-themed ice cream delights. This collaboration between Baskin-Robbins and Nintendo also features a number of different desserts inspired by the Nintendo Switch title set to be released on Sept. 9.
Baskin-Robbins' Splatoon-Themed Ice Cream Drops in September
These Splatoon-themed ice creams from Baskin-Robbins will be hitting the shelves in Japan on Sept. 1. According to an official announcement from Nintendo, this partnership will run for the whole month of September and will be available in a number of Baskin-Robbin stores in Japan.
These special event ice-cold treats from Nintendo are only available for a limited time. This means that when the event ends or when the ice creams sell out, they might not return again.
This Splatoon-Themed Ice Cream Includes 'Splatoon Ink'
Nintendo Life tells us that one of the flavors featured in this promotional event is the Ikasu Soda and Grape Splatoon ice cream. The report also tells us that each squid flavor comes with a Splatoon-themed cup or a variety pack that features eight flavors and a special Splatoon box.
Nintendo describes this flavor as ice cream with a blue grape taste and yellow soda flavor, plus chocolate puffs. Also, 'ika' is Japanese for squid. We got an authentic 'inkling' treat right here.
In the announcement about the Splatoon ice cream event, Nintendo seems to say that the said Splatoon ice cream cups will only be available for the first 310,000 customers in Japan.
This new limited edition treat from Nintendo and Baskin-Robbins is definitely a must-try for ice cream fans. Their blue and yellow-colored jelly soda ice cream include a small pack of 'squid ink' of the same color that you can pour on your jelly soda ice cream and drink.
With this gimmick, ice cream fans can design their own ice cream treat with the addition of these blue and yellow 'squid ink' toppers. According to the Nintendo announcement, the jelly soda ice cream has a sweet and sour refreshing taste. This one will surely appeal to every Splatoon fan's taste buds.
The Nintendo x Baskin-Robbins event also features a Splatoon 3-themed decorative cake. The Splatoon 3 Deco Cake comes with a flavored cake base that comes along with six scoops of Splatoon ice cream, two varieties of ink-like milk cream, and cookies cut out to look like your favorite Inklings and Octoling from Splatoon.
Back in July, Nintendo partnered with another famous ice-cream line to promote game franchises "Kirby and the Forgotten Land," "Mario Party Superstars," and "Animal Crossing: New Horizons." For this special event, Nintendo teamed up with Cold Stone Creamery.
Unlike the previous ice cream event from Nintendo, this Splatoon event with Baskin-Robbins is only available in Japan. This is not to raise any hopes, but with the upcoming release of Splatoon 3 to the Switch, a Splatoon-themed promotional event might be in the works near you.
