Bungie has great news for "Destiny 2" fans. The American video game company announced that "Destiny 2" will finally get its next major expansion. This newest expansion called "Lightfall" will be available for players in Feb 2023.
In the same announcement, Bungie also confirmed that Season 18, Season of Plunder, will be immediately available for players. A report from PushSquare tells us that Destiny's best raid, "King's Fall," is also set for a comeback soon.
Destiny's 'Season of Plunder' Features the Return of 'King's Fall'
Previously, 'King's Fall is a raid featured in Destiny expansion 'The Taken King.' This particular raid is set in the final boss of Oryx's fortress, Dreadnaught. The said raid was first released way back in 2015.
This Destiny 2 raid is known for its exquisite loots, compelling boss battles, and remarkable features and mechanics. In its first appearance for 'The Taken King', 'King's Fall' became an instant fan favorite as many players relished its exciting content and moments of glorious boss encounters.
A report from Fanbyte cites how interesting it would be to see the return of this 2015 classic raid to Bungie's current sandbox. In recent patches, Bungie has updated how pain points are calculated in the Vault of Glass.
There is the possibility that this raid rerun could be a lot tougher than its prior release. This could make "King's Fall" a lot more challenging, and Bungie should retain its loots or even enhance them if they want the same reception from fans.
According to reports, Bungie could be adding a few weapons for this new raid. But the video game company is said to pick only a select few weapons originally available rather than making every item available in an entire suit.

Polygon also tells us that 'King's Fall' is a potentially longer raid that can be a serious endurance test for Guardians. On August 26, World's First raiders can finally enjoy the best loots from defeating Oryx. Players can have the chance to obtain great raid weapons and armor by defeating the said boss.
Bungie Reveals Destiny 2 'King's Fall' Release Date
"King's Fall" will arrive for Destiny 2 on August 26. Destiny 2 fans from the United Kingdom can catch its release at 6 PM (BST), 7 PM (CEST) for Europe, 1 PM (EDT) for the US East Coast, and 10 AM (PDT) for Destiny 2 fans on the US West Coast.
Players can instantly join in to complete the Contest Mode when the raid arrives. Nevertheless, Destiny 2 players can complete the raid at their own pace, especially for players new to "King's Fall." But players should be reminded that Contest Mode is only available for 24 hours.
The first team to finish and successfully complete all the secret Triumphs from each encounter will be tagged as the 'World's First.'
According to Eurogamer, Contest Mode is primarily for the quickest Destiny 2 teams in the globe, but it is accessible to everybody. Based on prior years, any teams that finish the raid within the 24-hour window may receive rewards.
