Apple is bringing a new update for the Maps app in the coming year, and it will feature the advertisements in the application that will pop up while navigating the system. The company plans to bring search ads for the app, and there have been significant talks regarding it for a long time now, with initial information saying it was to arrive in 2022.
Apple Maps Ads to Arrive by 2023 says Gurman
According to a report by MacRumors, a new report from a known analyst is already talking about a new feature to arrive for the Apple Maps app by 2023.
The new feature will come in the form of search ads for Apple Maps, which would help generate more information when looking at places to go to for specific needs.
Initially, Apple Maps' ads were speculating on how it would appear, with some claiming that it would focus on banner ads that would cover the top area of the device, but it is not the case with the new feature.
Nevertheless, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman (via the PowerOn Newsletter) claimed that this feature is coming by 2023 but did not say exactly when it would arrive for users.

Apple Maps Search Ads
Gurman said that the search ads for Apple Maps mainly focus on bringing suggested places to go to whenever searching for a specific keyword on the app. For example, searching for "pizza" would point to one particular place advertised through the Maps app, a company partnered with Apple to highlight their business for people to see first.
Apple and Ads
Apple is not big on advertisements, and the company does not have many recurring ads available on different videos found on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and other online platforms. Some of its ads arrive during its events, and it talks about the various devices and technology that the company brings, with one example being its AirPods 3's Spatial Audio ads which featured Harry Styles.
The September fall event from 2021 brought the iPhone 13 available for all, and it also got a significant ad for the new smartphone from the company. Famously, the latest ads for the smartphone brought a delivery man going through the streets and showing that the iPhone 13 is available for his many needs.
Nevertheless, while Apple is not that focused on its takes on advertisements, the company also features some of them via its productions to bring information to its devices.
The new upcoming changes for the Maps will focus more on search ads, which would help give more insight to a place that a person is looking for, providing other information on nearby locations for their needs.
