'Top Subscriber Shows' consists of shows that offer premium benefits through the application. This list might help the subscribers to discover new and top charted shows that are included in the top 100. Exclusive content, early access to new episodes, bonus episodes, ad-free listening, and more premium benefits are offered to the subscribers by purchasing shows from this list in any category.

While the chart for the 'Top Subscriber Channels' consists of channels that produced groups and show that listeners can listen to. However, this list only features channels with a subscription to two or more shows. A channel ranks high on this chart if listeners are engaging more with their shows and episodes.

Shows and channels that are paywalled that did not make into the old charts, have now the opportunity to be listed because of this new chart as it will depend on a mix of listener engagement, follows, and completion rate.

Every day, the Apple Podcasts Charts are refreshed and updated. These are available for users who are running iOS 15.6, iPadOS 15.6, macOS 12.5, and much later versions in the future.

Criticisms of the App

Apple Podcasts Subscriptions launched last year and it continuously gives opportunities to its creators to give bonus content to their listeners and an ad-free version which can be availed for a monthly subscription.

The app was heavily criticized by the podcast community last year during its launch as they offer large fees compared to other platforms. 30% commission was taken by Apple on all of the subscriptions and purchases made inside the app.

The launch last year also got delayed as it was originally meant to operate in May but was officially launched weeks after, specifically on June 15.
