Airbnb's Anti-Party algorithm finally arrives to help lodging hosts prevent unauthorized parties even before the possible rule-breaking guests can check-in.
For the past few years, the American online lodging platform has been troubled by guests continuously conducting illegal parties in hotels and other vacation rental places.
Because of the damages these unauthorized gatherings cause, Airbnb decided to ban them in 2020. However, it seems like some individuals can still breach the policies.
Now, this scenario is expected to change, thanks to the arrival of the American lodging platform's new Anti-Party algorithm.
Airbnb's Anti-Party Algorithm Arrives
According to TechCrunch's latest report, the new Anti-Party algorithm can identify hosts likely to break the lodging policies.
It is specifically designed to prevent potential rule-breakers from renting an entire staycation place.
Once the algorithm detects that the guests plan to conduct unauthorized parties, it will present options for booking single rooms, which the hosts regularly visit.
Thanks to this, these rule-breakers will be guarded most of the time, lessening the chance of them having their unwanted gatherings.
"We're announcing the introduction of new anti-party tools in the US and Canada to help identify potentially high-risk reservations and prevent those users from taking advantage of our platform," said Airbnb via its official press release.
Better Than Airbnb Under-25 System?
Before Airbnb started the new Anti-Party algorithm tests in the United States and Canada, the online hotel rental platform relied on the so-called Under-25 system.
This tech specifically works by preventing guests below 25 years old, especially those with less than three positive reviews, from renting an entire place near their residential areas.
Now, Airbnb claims that the new Anti-Party algorithm is more sophisticated and robust compared to the Under-25 system.
