Tesla's long-awaited Semi Truck and Cybertruck might be coming to the market sooner than you think.
Elon musk said in a tweet on Monday, Aug., that Cybertruck is still another year away before it rolls its debut, while the 500-mile range Semi truck will finally start shipping this year.
Delayed Various Times
However, it is important to take the billionaire's tweet with a healthy dose of skepticism. As Futurism notes, Musk has a history of not meeting the initial deadlines set for the release of Tesla vehicles.
According to Electrek, the production of Tesla's Semi trucks has been delayed various times ever since Musk presented the vehicle in late 2017.
But preorders have proven successful even with the delays. A number of corporations ordered the electric semi truck by the end of 2017, including UPS and Walmart. In the years thereafter, Tesla Semis have been sighted at various locations along Californian highways.
With the several appearances of the Semi truck this summer, it could very well indicate that the automaker is making significant progress in production. Recently, one vehicle was spotted with a puzzling mural found on its side.
The cabin of the Tesla Semi has a single, central seat with two enormous displays surrounding the steering wheel, and the company refers to it as "the safest, most comfortable truck ever" on its website.
Musk has sold $32 billion in stock in his electric vehicle company since November 2021. The latest was on Monday, selling $7 billion Tesla shares.
Additionally, the tech CEO hinted at a new social media platform he would launch, which would use the name and domain of "X.com," a well-known project of his in the past.
The famous global brand known today as PayPal, which eBay controls, was formerly an online baking website called X.com until it merged with its rival, Confinity, Inc.
