National Blogger Day: Celebrate the Platform that Made Online Sharing Available for All

The world may think of a person or online content creator when hearing the word "Blogger," and it is not Google's app that comes immediately to their thoughts regarding the said phrase. However, it is what started all the commotion at first, focusing on a dedicated page where users may publish their thoughts, ideas, and whatever they want to share.

Before social media, there were blog posts and "bloggers" that bring a source of information for all.

Blogger or the blogspot.com platform that first started last August 23, 1999, is a website where users receive blog publishing tools and an entryway to web designing for their online showcase. It is one of the most significant platforms in the world, as before social media and other blog websites like Tumblr, WordPress, NewGrounds, and the like.

The platform is like the start of many significant features in the world, and according to National Today, August 5 is a massive celebration to commemorate the platform.

The blog has always been text-heavy, but the publishing tools that bring a person their domain give the world a chance to incorporate mixed media into their posts. Still, it became an app that Google acquired in 2003 and continues to develop now.

Blogger and its Significance to the World, Available for All

Google's Blogger is still up and running now, and even to this day, it is a platform that many people use for their needs and requirements to express themselves. There are many experiences available in the world, but there is nothing compared to the platform that a person is accustomed to using and accessing for their needs.

What is Blogger? One of the Oldest Platforms Now

There are only a few people who use Blogger now, but it is still one of the most famous websites in the world that brings a known experience for all, centering on online blog posts on dedicated platforms. Most people know it as "blogspot.com" with an address that centers on what their website's name is, or what they want to feature.

However, there was one incident regarding sexually explicit content via Blogger, and Google wanted to take them down privately, with content creators or owners getting notified by the company. Google is not condoning the use of Blogger as a site that contains exploitive images of different people, hence the takedown.

Nevertheless, Blogger's fame is overthrown by the significance of platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, and the like.

Still, Blogger is a significant platform for users wanting to start their domain but have no capabilities of designing one or creating it from scratch. The platform became creative through the years it is available, giving the world a chance to customize it with new media, but not necessarily losing its soul as a text-heavy platform.
