"Halo Infinite" is giving the world their favorite Microsoft mascot a tactical makeover, with Clippy joining the game as a new accessory to collect in the game. Microsoft's Clippy is one of the earliest mascot assistants available in its Office software, and it helps the public with many features for the platform, but now it would help in the famous first-person shooting game.
'Halo Infinite' adds Microsoft's Clippy as a Tactical Paperclip
"Halo" announced on its Twitter page that a famous Microsoft mascot is coming to the game, and it is with the Office Virtual Assistant, Clippy, who would join the renowned shooter game. The game calls Clippy its "Tactical Paperclip," which would not replace Cortana in the game but go along with adventures as an accessory for the soldiers.
Microsoft had no intentions of bringing Clippy back as a virtual assistant to the new Windows 11, as it already has Cortana (the Microsoft version, not the game) to address all user needs. It only previously announced that the company would bring it back as an emoji if its tweet got 20,000 likes, exceeding that during its time.
How to Get Microsoft's Clippy via 'Halo Infinite'
According to "Halo's" announcement, there are specific challenges that users need to accomplish to get Clippy or the tactical paperclip on the game as an accessory for the gamers.
Here, one of the most essential things to do is to accomplish the Weekly Challenges in "Halo Infinite," as well as the Ultimate Challenge.
After that, users need to equip Clippy with their weapons, and lastly, go on a quest to help Tactical Clippy claim the "Mantle of Responsibility."
'Halo Infinite' and Microsoft's Clippy
Microsoft's Clippy was one of the most iconic mascots of the famous software company before the Redmond giant replaced him with Cortana, the present virtual assistant on all experiences. People who experienced using the early Office suite found Clippy somewhat "annoying" and it is because it is persistent on the screens whenever using the apps.
Oh, and the Microsoft mascot has a music video that fans made to pay tribute to the paperclip.
In 2021, Microsoft said it is bringing back Clippy for the world to experience, not as a virtual assistant on the Office suite, but as an emoji they may use for the new software. Its news coincided with the Windows 11 release last year, with several news regarding its return to Microsoft's operating system for the world.
Clippy may not have any significant role on Microsoft's Windows 11 now, but the paperclip is to get a tactical experience as it is available on "Halo Infinite" for the world to see. It seems that Clippy is joining the ranks as an accessory and will go side-by-side with Master Chief, the Spartan soldiers, and "Halo's" Cortana.
