'Halo Infinite' Season 2 Is Finally LIVE - Here's What You Could Expect

"Halo Infinite" multiplayer's second season, titled "Lone Wolves," is finally here after months upon months of waiting.

Six months after the first season called "Heroes of Reach," "Lone Wolves" adds a ton of new content including new maps, game modes, a lot of balance changes, so-called Endless Weapon Drills, and even improvements to the capabilities of the already-excellent AI bots, writes GameRant.

Here is a quick breakdown of the new major stuff for "Halo Infinite" Season 2.:

  • Breaker Map: 343 Industries is bringing the Breaker map to Big Team Battle. It is a ship-breaking yard which has a long center lane for vehicle access, which makes it perfect for ambush tactics. Players can now try the map in the BTB playlist, Last Spartan Standing (a new game mode) playlist, and Custom Games.

  • Catalyst Map: This new map is set inside a Forerunner structure and is for use in the Arena. It has a light bridge that connects each side. You can play on this map on most Arena playlists, which also includes Ranked.

  • New game modes: 343 already announced these new game modes ahead of the official release: Last Spartan Standing (a pseudo-battle royale, free-for-all mode), team-based King of the Hill, Land Grab (a version of KotH with several capture points), and Attrition (Team Slayer mode with a shared respawn pool).

Aside from these, "Halo Infinite" Season 2 also brings even more content with the battle pass. As per GameSpot, the battle pass has brand-new cosmetic kits and XP buffs for players. A few of the armor sets you get looks like they were cobbled together right there on the battlefield, which ties in to the season's "Lone Wolves" theme. Basically, they're a bunch of soldiers deep behind enemy lines, who must do everything and anything to survive the mission.

A few of the items include the Tier 20 Rakshasa Armor Core, Tier 30 Sigrid Eklund Kit, and the Tier 94 Hieu Dinh Kit. But for those who do not want to spend money on the battle pass, 343 Industries added a free version which allows you to unlock "dozens of rewards" from the 100-tier. But if you're fine with paying, there's a $10 Premium version.

What You Must Try First In 'Halo Infinite' Season 2

The entirety of "Halo Infinite" multiplayer's second season will last for six months, writes Windows Central. As such, that's plenty of time to try the new stuff out, especially the brand-new game modes while you wait for the eventual arrival of campaign co-op and Forge.

Perhaps the one you should try out first is Last Spartan Standing. As previously mentioned, this mode is like "Halo's" version of a battle royale, but far more contained and perhaps even more chaotic. Here's a gameplay look from YouTuber Sean W, who calls the mode the "best new thing" that came with "Halo Infinite" Season 2:

In Last Spartan Standing, 12 players are dropped into a Big Team Battle map. They only have a pre-determined loadout which they can upgrade by scoring points via kills and assists, writes GFinityESports. Aside from that, each player also has a total of five lives. Run out of lives and you're out.

Are you excited to try out Last Spartan Standing, alongside other new stuff?
