Tesla Mobile app introduces a new Self Diagnostic feature for Service Appointments on Android and iPhone iOS mobile devices.
The Self Diagnostic feature on the Tesla Mobile app first saw the light of day on its iOS version for iPhones, according to a recent report by Tesla North.
But this time, the new Self Diagnostic feature on its mobile app is up and running, allowing users to check any issues with their vehicles before going for a service.
Tesla Mobile App Debuts New Self Diagnostic Feature
The new feature on the Tesla mobile app is aptly called "Diagnostics."
It essentially lets users of the mobile app of Tesla on Android or iOS check any flaws in their electric vehicles (EVs) as they attempt to schedule an appointment for maintenance or other services.
The new feature precisely scans the overall condition of the EV to look for any faults that would require some servicing.
A Twitter user that goes by the name Tesla Adri says that he first saw the source code of the new Self Diagnostic feature on the iOS mobile app of the renowned EV maker.
But it took a few weeks before the actual feature arrived in the mobile app of the automaker owned by the wealthiest man in the world, Elon Musk.
How to Use Tesla App's Self Diagnostic Feature
The new Diagnostic feature on the Tesla app is pretty much easy to use, as it does not require tedious steps to start working.
To start running the new Diagnostic feature on the Tesla mobile app, users should go on to schedule an appointment for servicing their vehicles.
And before getting an appointment, the mobile app would automatically scan the vehicle as it attempts to look for any issues that need fixing.
Once the self-diagnostics have been completed, the app would give a summary of the issues. From there, it also gives its users an option to schedule its servicing.
Tesla North further notes in the same report that the new diagnostics feature on its mobile app only automatically runs when scheduling an appointment.
So it means EV owners could not manually scan specific categories in their vehicles like most health and wellness checks on most vehicles these days.
Meanwhile, according to a report by Electrek, the renowned EV maker has previously enabled its owners to self-diagnose using the built-in tool of its vehicles. Once a problem has been detected, it encourages its users to schedule a service appointment on the Tesla Mobile App.
But this time, the mobile app itself could do the self-diagnostics.
