Apple is planning to update its 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros early, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
The well-known leaker of Apple news said that the tech giant is already working on M2 versions of the 14-inch and 16-inch laptop models.
Apple to Update MacBook Pros Early
According to 9to5Mac, the design and features of the two laptops are going to stay the same because the tech giant only redesigned the line in 2021 to add MagSafe charging, more ports, and better and wider displays.
The primary change will be the addition of M2 versions of the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips Apple offers through its current models. Gurman said that fans of the product can expect better graphics with the standard M2.
On the 2022 MacBook Air, the graphics performance is said to be 35% faster if you go with the 10-core GPU variant, according to Engadget.
Even though Apple reportedly hopes to release the new Apple laptops in mid-2022. However, Gurman said that the tech giant could delay them until mid-2023.
Given the continued supply-chain challenges, it is difficult to predict when the Apple laptops will hit store shelves, according to Gurman.
The new MacBooks are just among the deluge of products Apple plans to release in 2023. The tech giant is also currently working on a new HomePod and Apple Watch for extreme sports.
Apple Watch for Extreme Sports
The tech giant is also reportedly working on an Apple Watch that will include a body temperature sensor. The said sensor is set to warn you when you are coming down with a fever, according to Tom's Guide.
The Apple Watch Series 8 will not provide an exact reading, but it could send a notification that prompts you to see a doctor or medical professional and use a thermometer.
Gurman has also brought up the possibility of the Apple Watch Series 8 including a temperature sensor. The insider mentioned Apple was working on the feature in 2021, reporting that it would arrive with the company's wearable lineup in mid-2022.
Gurman backtracked on the prediction in January, warning fans that blood temperature monitoring was among a handful of capabilities that were years away.
However, after a couple of months, Gurman said that Series 8 would have a body temperature sensor, provided the feature passed Apple's internal testing guidelines.
The Apple leaker said that the feature is a go for the standard Series 8, and the oft-rumored rugged edition Apple is creating for extreme athletes.
Gurman says that other changes to the Series 8 will be minor and the wearable feature will have the same processing power as the Series 7 and Series 6. He also mentions that higher-end Series 8 smartwatch models could include an updated display.
Another Apple product that will not have that many upgrades is the second-generation AirPods Pro. They won't include heart rate or body temperature monitoring features.
The Airpods Pro is predicted to come in mid-2022 along with the Apple wearables. However, there is a possibility that it will be released in mid-2023 just like the MacBook Pros.
