Microsoft has unveiled its newest clothing collection under "Hardwear." We often have the notion that the Redmond tech firm only launches tech-related items, but that's already outdated thinking.
Through the collaboration with known streetwear designer Gavin Mathieu, the company launched a nine-apparel collection that would give you a slightly "retro" look.
Microsoft 'Hardwear' Fashion Line
It's a "once in a blue moon" moment to witness that a tech-focused company releases a clothing collection for some fans around the world. The fashion industry does not go out of style since models and fashionistas relentlessly don various apparel for the trend.
Once again, Microsoft ventures into another clothing partnership that was made possible with Supervsn founder Gavin Mathieu. The apparel merchandise looks to cater to the needs of different trendsetters who are inclined to embrace the "normcore" style.
According to Slashgear's report, the current accessories and clothing look "pretty average" for their visual appearances. Although some people will find it uninteresting, this first capsule collection will allow all wearers to have freedom in sporting these apparel at a unique level.
"The collection is reflective of the Normcore style, a lifestyle aesthetic that puts the focus on individuals and not on the clothing they wear. Every piece is intentional, and there is the meaning behind each item in Hardwear," Microsoft's multicultural and social communications director Amanda O'Neal said.
The "Hardwear" collection contains two t-shirts that depict a noticeable reference to the company. One features a classic Windows XP wallpaper while the other one sports a nostalgic Microsoft Paint icon print.
Apart from that, there's an overshirt, a jacket, sweatpants, cargo tech pants, and a "Hardwear" hat with the Microsoft 1990 logo style, per The Verge.

'Hardwear' is the Not the First Microsoft Clothing Collection
It appears that Microsoft has an intention to attract a specific group of people upon launching the "Hardwear" branding. Although this might sound new to others, this isn't the first time that the software developer engages in the clothing business.
Over the past years, the tech company has been marketing its Xbox t-shirt. In 2020, Microsoft managed to sell Windows-inspired sweaters. Other than that, it released the same apparel but this time with a design inspired by "Minesweeper," Windows XP, and Windows 95.
At first glance, the normcore collection might look bland to other people especially if you would remove the Microsoft designs and logos. Of course, some find it appealing despite that others consider it unfit for formal wear.
In other news, Nokia resurrected three classic phones recently. The newly-launched handsets which now boast a modern twist on their design and features are currently now up for sale in the store, together with a new tablet, per Tech Times.
