Sony New Speaker SXS-XG300 Can Last Up To 25 Hours: Learn More About These IP67 Rated Gadgets

Sony's been no stranger to audio technology with multiple gadgets from speakers to subwoofers, and to add to its collection, it launched another line of portable speakers with the IP67 rating. One of its portable speakers, the SRS-XG300, can last a minute underwater for up to 30 seconds.

The Importance of Waterproof Portable Speakers

Aside from battery life, one thing that portable speakers really need to have is being at least semi-waterproof. The reason why a lot of people buy portable speakers is so that they can play music at the beach, in the car, or anywhere else with their friends.

Sony doesn't usually dabble in the smart speaker space to compete with the likes of Apple or Amazon, and other companies. Instead, the company focuses more on providing a more general experience that can be enjoyed by the majority instead of a select few.

SRS-XG300 Being Sold with Floater?

Sharing music through high-quality speakers can be exciting, and to make things more convenient, Sony's new portable speaker has a battery life of just a little more than a day. To make things even more interesting, a Japanese posting of the SRS-XG300 was being sold along with a floater.

This means that either Sony or the retailer was confident enough in the portable speaker's capabilities that they even recommended it be used in the swimming pool or beach. The speaker is Bluetooth controlled, making it easy for users to play music.

Sony's SRS-XG300 is Part of The Company's X-Series

According to the story by Engadget, Sony's new portable speaker, the SRS-XG300, is part of a trio of portable speakers within the company's X-series. The portable speaker features a Mega Bass feature to help boost the low-end response, especially when users are outdoors.

Another feature that users can enjoy is the ClearAudio+ feature which reportedly provides users with the most balanced sound. Last but not the least, there's a Live Sound Mode that lets the portable speaker simulate what the sound would be like if users were in a live venue.

Other Portable Speakers in the Mix Including the SRS-XE300 and SRS-XE200

While these settings provide automatic adjustments to the sound that users can hear, there's another way users can toggle with the settings in order to come out with the sound that they want. Users can use Sony's Music Center app in order for them to gain the ability to adjust the EQ to their liking.

Sony's SRS-XG300 will launch around two other portable speakers, namely the SRS-XE300 and the SRS-XE200. Both speakers, however, won't provide users with the listening time compared to the SRS-XG300 at 25 hours.

The XE-300, for example, is only capable of playing up to 24 hours which isn't actually bad, while the SRS-XE200 is only capable of up to 16 hours.
