Apple AirPods Pro 2 is unlikely to feature rumored health functionalities, as it misses out on heart rate and body temperature sensor, claims a recent report.
Multiple rumors and reports predict that the iPhone maker is working to debut its AirPods Pro 2 sometime in 2022.
It is worth noting that the first-ever Pro variant of the wireless headphone launched three years ago or on October 28, 2019.

After a few years since the first AirPods Pro, Apple is reportedly releasing its successor this 2022. And rumors say it remarkably introduces new health features like heart rate and body temperature detection.
But this time, as per a news story by Mac Rumors, a report straight from the Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman says otherwise.
The latest Power On newsletter by Mark Gurman on Blomberg notes that the all-new AirPods Pro is on its way to an official launch in late 2022.
Gurman also says that the debut of the AirPods Pro 2 comes at the right time, wherein owners of its first edition might start having some battery issues by now. It should be noted that after three years, these lithium-ion batteries sadly start losing their hold.
The journalist says that the reliability of the first-ever AirPods Pro might start slipping by now, given that it came out last 2019.

On top of that, Gurman says that the all-new AirPods Pro is "unlikely to get heart-rate monitoring."
The latest edition of the Power On newsletter also notes early rumors suggesting that the 2022 AirPods Pro sports a new body temperature feature.
Despite reports about these new AirPods capabilities, the Bloomberg journalist dismisses these rumored health features. Gurman went on to say, "I'm told that neither feature is likely to arrive in the 2022 upgrade."
But he notes that the Cupertino-based tech giant actually tested out such health features internally. And as such, Gurman hints that Apple might introduce the body temperature and heart rate monitoring functions in the future generations of the AirPods Pro.
Instead, the AirPods Pro 2 appears to be missing out on these exciting health features. Yet, it is not the end for the heart rate and body temperature functions, as future offerings might start including them. But for now, Apple is reportedly leaving them out.
Meanwhile, early rumors of the upcoming wireless earphone suggest that the second generation AirPods Pro supports USB-C charging, and it is also getting the highly anticipated Find My feature.
