The most-awaited Apple USB-C transition is now expected to happen. Rumors claim that this change will be experienced by the charging case of the upcoming AirPods Pro 2.
Previously, this new wearable device was expected to be launched in April 2021. However, the iPhone maker didn't release it on that date.
Now, new speculations believe that Apple might unveil the AirPods Pro 2 model in the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2022.
According to Phone Arena, once these new earphones arrive, they will have a new charging case with a USB-C port.
Apple USB-C Transition Update
The Verge reported that the European Union requires Apple to integrate USB-C ports into its smartphones and other gadgets.
EU officials added that the iPhone has until 2024 to comply. Now, it seems like Apple will start its USB-C transition before 2022 ends.
Aside from the upcoming AirPods Pro 2 charging case, the tech giant manufacturer might also integrate the required charging port into its upcoming iPad 10th Gen, which is expected to be launched in October.
The new iPhone 15 (estimated to arrive around September 2023) is believed to receive the USB-C charging port as well.
But, other rumors are claiming that Apple might use another method so that the EU will allow its iPhone 15 sales.
iPhone 15 Might Go Portless?
Of course, integrating the USB-C charging port is not the only way that can allow Apple to continue selling its devices in EU countries.
Rumors claimed that Apple could also design the new iPhone 15 as a portless device. This is quite efficient since the EU clarified that gadgets without charging ports can still be sold in Europe.
But, the arrival of a portless iPhone 15 is still uncertain, given that the MagSafe still has no data-transfer support. If you want to see further details about the rumored portless iPhone 15, you can click this link.
In 2021, some engineering students showed that Apple's iPhone USB-C swapping is a complex procedure.
On the other hand, Brazil wants the Apple USB-C transition as well.
