Ford's first-ever electric SuperVan impressively flaunts a supercar-like speed, thanks to its horsepower numbers, which outperforms the renowned high-performance automaker, Bugatti.
But is it as quick as a Bugatti?
Ford Electric SuperVan
The American carmaker unveils its all-new Pro Electric SuperVan, the fourth iteration of the sporting promotional vehicle.
But, as per a news story by Car Scoops, it is its first-ever all-electric version, and also rightfully the fastest SuperVan in history.
Ford says the new SuperVan is loosely based on the production E-Transit Custom, which is another all-electric van offering from the carmaker.
However, Car Scoops notes that while it is based on the E-Transit, they are far more distinctive from each other. In fact, the only thing that the E-Transit and the new SuperVan share is their floor pan. Everything else is entirely different, more specifically, their power.
Ford SuperVan Performs Like a Supercar
One of the most notable in the first all-electric SuperVan is its impeccable performance, which is near what supercars could offer.
According to a recent report by Business Insider, the all-new high-performance van of Ford boasts a blazing fast acceleration performance.
If we are going to be more precise, the renowned American carmaker touts that the new SuperVan achieves 62 miles per hour or 100 kilometers per hour without going over two seconds.
Given that this powerful Ford electric vehicle (EV) is a van, Business Insider notes that this should mean that the SuperVan could deliver packages to your doorstep instantaneously.
If the all-new SuperVan were to deliver packages, there's no doubt that it would perform the same-day delivery job without a sweat.
Ford SuperVan vs Bugatti Chiron
The extremely fast performance of the new SuperVan is thanks to its four electric motors, which lashes out 1,937 horsepower. As such, it doesn't need a couple of seconds to go past 60 miles per hour.
Interestingly, Business Insider notes in its report that the hefty priced $3 million Bugatti Chiron supercar delivers a lower horsepower than the Ford SuperVan.
The fuel-powered 16-cylinder engine of the Chiron only produces up to 1,500 horsepower.
But does that make the SuperVan a faster vehicle than the iconic Bugatti supercar?
As per a report by Car and Driver, the Bugatti Chiron achieves 60 miles per hour as fast as 2.3 seconds. So, in terms of acceleration, the SuperVan outperforms it, at least on paper.
