Of course, WikiLeaks, an international non-profit organization that publishes classified media and news leaks, was unhappy with the decision.

"A dark day for Press freedom and for British democracyThe decision will be appealed," said the publishing agency via its official Twitter post.

According to Mashable's latest report, Priti Patel, the home secretary of the U.K., was the one who approved the decision on Friday, June 17.

The U.K. Home Office said that the U.S. extradition against Assange is not oppressive, abusive, or unjust. Officials added that handing the WikiLeaks founder to the United States is not against his human rights.

However, the U.S. government still needs to treat him properly. This means that the United States must ensure that his health will not be affected by the extradition.

The issue of Assange started after WikiLeaks published some classified government files back in 2010 and 2011. Because of this, the publication agency faced espionage charges in the United States.

Now, Assange only has 14 days to appeal the U.K. government's decision.

What WikiLeaks is Doing To Address the Issue

To respond to Priti's U.S. extradition approval, WikiLeaks said that it would appeal her decision.

Stella Moris, the wife of Julian Assange, defended him against the accusation. She said that her husband did nothing wrong and had committed no crime at all.

The woman explained that Assange is a publisher and journalist who is being punished for doing his job. If you want to see further details about the issue of Julian Assange, you can visit this link.
