Researchers are looking towards better features for Artificial Intelligence (AI), and every day, there are many advancements made for the technology to help its progression and assist people in their daily lives. However, what if it is given a way to self-sustain and push for innovations on its own?
That is what researchers from Duke University bring to the public as they focus on a venture to teach Physics to AI to help make its discoveries.
Physics for AI: Helping Artificial Tech Push for its Discoveries
According to a news release by Duke University on May 17, the Pratt School of Engineering is looking for ways to use AI in more applications, particularly in discovering new information (via SciTechDaily). The researchers will develop AI by giving it lessons and information regarding the study of Physics to help it lean more towards the subject.
Physics for AI will help in giving the system more information regarding the many fields it applies to and help in the progression that will contribute to more knowledge and information in the future. AI will go on its own to study and look at possible research ventures that would help the researchers, despite not monitoring it at all times.
Is Teaching Physics to AI an Ideal Venture?
Teaching physics to AI systems focuses on giving a self-learning machine a chance to learn more about the subject and providing a signal to study and look for possible data on its own. It may sound like giving a weapon to a sleeper bot that would disobey its masters once it completes the learning.
However, it gives it more freedom to venture into other topics and get more from the system than before.
AI and its Self-Learning Features
AI is a massive venture in the technology industry today, as almost all innovations already have artificial intelligence or use the system to help create the product for users. The system's advancement is significant and rapid, with different AIs already capable of developing their secret language that only computers may understand.
There are multiple ways AI may help society, and the developers or researchers that made it focused on bringing a way for these systems to deliver on their promises and help the community. Social problems are some of the focuses of AI, and one system aims to bring into a traffic situation that ventures to answer congestions on the road.
It is not all bad or looking to take over the world once it gets highly intuitive or knowledgeable of the many systems and features available now. Some AI is focusing on the progression of human knowledge, and even though they can think on their own or bring innovations to the world, it is towards a goal for its help for the public.
