A new standalone The Last of Us title is coming, and it's going to be big as other Naughty Dog games.

This game has been known about somehow, and it was supposed to be multiplayer with the subtitle Factions. However, plans have changed.

Neil Druckmann said that the game has evolved, which will give the game more justice to make it standalone, and it will have a unique story. He also said that the game has been in full development for two years already.

According to the listing of the upcoming TLOU game, it will be a "total overhaul" of the original game and will come with modernized gameplay, expanded accessibility options, and improved controls. It will also have better effects, along with improved combat and exploration.

It will also feature a new enemy Artificial Intelligence (AI) based on The Last of Us Part 2.

Is It Also Coming to the PC?

Druckmann didn't say anything about what platforms it would be available in. However, one thing is for sure, though, that the new The Last of Us game will have live service to it, which makes it a good candidate for a PC version.

What makes this even more possible is that Sony, during the State of Play event, unveiled Marvel's Spider-Man, a PlayStation exclusive, will be available on the PC. This only shows the company's commitment to having a more solid presence on the PC platform.

The company will also make a huge push on PC after the success of God of War and Spider-Man.

Not a First

This is not the first time TLOU has been remastered. However, this new announcement only shows that high-profile games like The Last Of Us will always have that "afterlife."

The original TLOU launched on PlayStation 3 in 2013, which soon became a franchise that gave birth to a side story about the main character Ellie's past that came to the PlayStation 4 in 2014.

The Last of Us Part 1 will be released for PS5 on September 2. It will be sold in standard, deluxe, and Firefly Edition. The Firefly Edition will include a steel book display case, copies of the Last of Us: American Dreams comics issues 1-4, and some in-game unlocks, which si priced at $99.99.

On the other hand, the digital-only Deluxe Edition comes with two skill upgrades, pistol/rifle upgrade, explosive arrows, a dither punk filter, speedrun mode, and six weapon skins that will be available at $79.99. While the standard mode is priced at $69.99.
