Tesla CEO Elon Musk says that the company is currently working on its North American service. The tech billionaire aims to roll out the same-day service to two-thirds of the cars in the region.
Tesla Same-Day Service
According to Electrek, the electric vehicle manufacturer is now preparing to make adjustments for North American customers. From Q1 2021 to Q1 2022, there's a noticeable growth when it comes to Tesla's car deliveries.
Particularly, a 68% growth was observed on a quarter-to-quarter basis. From 184,877 vehicles delivered, the automaker managed to deliver 310,048 cars, per the last quarterly report.
Although this is a good indicator that the company is showing huge progress in business, its infrastructure growth seems to lag.
However, the downside here is Tesla could not fully comply with the needs of the customers. Thus, many unfulfilled deliveries keep on piling up as a result.
That's why Elon Musk said that there would be some adjustments when it comes to the company's service in North America.
The issue becomes much more difficult since several delays could happen when a customer wants to arrange an appointment. This alone could take several days to weeks, depending on the user's location.
Same-Day Appointment or Repair?
Regarding this, Musk acknowledges that Tesla is showcasing a gradual improvement in service reliability. However, the cycle repeats every few years.
Some adjustments are already made when it comes to service capacity, but Tesla still wants to figure out how to address them properly. Speaking of service coverage, Musk admitted that there was a "foolish oversight" on it.
This time, the tech boss appears to be making another batch of adjustments for this year. Recently, he tweeted out that the EV manufacturer is now working on the Tesla North American service.
Additionally, he mentioned that his goal is to roll out the same-day service to two-thirds of the cars. However, he did not specify the type of service. Possibly, it can be a same-day appointment or repair.

Increase in Total Headcount But Decrease in Salary Headcount
Last time, Reuters reported that Musk said that Tesla would aim to increase the total headcount for the workers in exchange for some adjustments to the number of salaried staff.
"Total headcount will increase, but salaried should be fairly flat," Musk replied to one commenter who predicted the increase in total headcount ahead of his announcement.
In relation to this, Musk told the Tesla executives last week that there might be a need to slash jobs by about 10% because of the worsening economic state of the United States.
In a follow-up email to staff, Musk clarified that he wanted to decrease the salaried headcount by 10% because of the overstaffing that happens in several areas. However, he added that the hourly headcount would improve over time.
