With Tesla and other giant automakers increasing the prices for their zero-emission vehicles, it is quite strange for GM to suddenly reduce the prices of its EVs.

On the other hand, GM is making the price adjustment as the EV demand increases in the auto industry. The models that will experience sudden price decreases are specifically the 2023 Chevy Bolt EV and Bolt EUV.

Now, here's why General Motors decided to implement the price reduction during the rising EV demands.

GM Chevy Bolt Getting Cheaper?

According to The Verge's latest report, General Motors explained that reason why it wants to make the 2023 Chevy Bolt EV and Bolt EUV, which is affordability.

GM said that one of the main goals of its EV models is to offer affordability to the consumers. Thanks to this, those who still haven't purchased their own electric cars now have cheaper options.

When it comes to prices, the 2023 Bolt EVs with the 1LT trim will now have a starting price of $26,595, which is a huge difference from its original price of $32,495.

On the other hand, the 2LT will have a new starting price of $29,795 (this is a 16% decrease from its original price of $35,695 back in 2020).

"This change reflects our ongoing desire to make sure Bolt EV/EUV are competitive in the marketplace. As we've said, affordability has always been a priority for these vehicles," said General Motors' spokesperson.

With the latest decision of GM, it seems like the automaker is quite motivated to attract more buyers. If you are among the interested consumers, then you will be able to order the cheap 2023 Bolt EV and EUV starting in July.

GM Wants Fleet Consumers To Buy EVs

InsideEVs reported that General Motors' fleet department is now urging its consumers to purchase the automaker's electric car models. Recently, GM was reportedly adding new reservations from its fleet buyers.

This means that the automaker is now going all-in in its rising EV business transition. But, General Motors clarified that it will also make efforts to further enhance its commercial vehicles.
