Cadillac LYRIQ EV is Now Sold Out for 2023! But Pre-Orders Still Open?

Cadillac LYRIQ EV 2023 has been sold out shortly after the luxury automaker opened orders for its new all-electric car on May 19.

However, its pre-orders are apparently still open to those who might be patient enough to get their hands on the all-new Cadillac LYRIQ.

Cadillac LYRIQ EV Sold Out

As per a news story by Teslarati, the all-new electric vehicle of the giant carmaker General Motor (GM), the Cadillac LYRIQ 2023, emptied its stocks four hours after it welcomed orders from its existing customers.

The luxury brand of GM, Cadillac, opened orders for two variants of its 2023 LYRIQ, including its all-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive versions.

However, a few hours after orders for it graced its customers, the luxury SUV/crossover EV got sold out.

To be more precise, Cadillac states that the orders for its 2023 LYRIQ starts from 9 in the morning. However, it only lasted a few hours after selling out by 1 in the afternoon.

The Executive Director of Cadillac Communications, Michael Albano, said in a statement that the "customer demand for the LYRIC has matched our expectations and we look forward to exceeding their expectations when they take delivery of their Lyriq."

The Cadillac exec further states that the instantaneous sale of its all-new electric SUV is a "historic moment" in the journey of the luxury carmaker to enter the emerging world of EVs.

It is worth noting, though, that Cadillac refuses to provide us any numbers for the initial orders of its 2023 LYRIQ.

However, according to a recent report by Inside EVs, the luxury car brand previously gave us explicit numbers of people who are interested in its new vehicle way back in March.

Cadillac earlier claimed that there are roughly 233,000 interested customers in the new EV venture of the luxury brand of GM.

The carmaker predicts that about 10 percent of these thousands of interested buyers are pushing through with their purchases.

On top of that, Teslarati notes that GM previously asked its suppliers to get ready for the production of up to 25,000 LYRIQ SUVs for this year alone.

So, the numbers of the now sold-out units should be over 20,000, but we could only suspect this as there appear to be no official figures yet.

Cadillac LYRIQ Pre-Orders

Even if the orders for the whole year are already sold out, Cadillac still welcomes new buyers.

The preorder waitlist for the 2024 LYRIQ is open on the official website of the luxury carmaker. Cadillac requires buyers to pay a refundable $100 to join the list.
