Tesla Supercharger is now the "largest 150 Kw+ public fast-charging network" in Europe after the giant EV maker owned by Elon Musk started opening the door of its infrastructure to other brands.

The EV maker continues to expand its Supercharger network to non-Tesla car owners, allowing those who drive an electric Ford or Volkswagen to also enjoy its massive fast-charging infrastructure, at least in the European region.
Tesla initially launched its Supercharger exclusively for its vehicles back when there were not many other brands offering all-electric cars, as per a news story by Electrek.
But as more automakers embrace going electric, the Supercharger has been heavily criticized for excluding non-Tesla EV owners.
Tesla Supercharger Embraces Other EV Owners
To answer the clamor, Tesla started opening the doors to its Supercharger network to drivers of EVs sporting other badges like Ford, Nissan, and Volkswagen, to name a few.
The giant EV maker of a tech billionaire, Musk, debuted its Supercharger pilot program last Nov. 2021 in 10 stations in the Netherlands. It allowed non-Tesla owners to top up their batteries using the app of the Musk-owned automaker.
The CEO and founder of Tesla announced back then that the Supercharger pilot program would gradually expand to other EV owners as it still tests the waters. Not to mention that current Tesla owners might also experience a bit of added traffic in their stations as it opens to more users.
A few months after opening up in the Netherlands, the pilot program expanded to other countries, such as France and Norway.
According to the latest report by The Verge, the fast-charging network of the giant EV maker also opened up to non-Tesla folks in countries like Austria, Sweden, and Belgium. It now also includes the infrastructure in Spain and the United Kingdom.
Tesla Supercharger: Largest Fast-Charging Network?
As the Supercharger network opened up to more EV owners in Europe, it emerged to become the largest in the massive region. It is all thanks to the recent expansion of the pilot program to more territories like Belgium and the United Kingdom.
The head of supercharging of Tesla in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), Jeroen van Tilburg, boasted about the latest feat on his LinkedIn account.
Tilburg wrote that the Supercharger instantly became "the largest 150kW+ fast-charging network."
