BMW M4 CSL: What is It and Why is it Better than its Previous Release? Meet the New Beast

BMW announced that there is a new variant coming to the M-series it released in the past year, and it will focus on the M4 CSL that essentially brings a new car, one that is bred for power. If you think that the M4 is already powerful on its own, then there is a twin that BMW brings to have more offers than what its first release brings for the drivers.

According to BMW's press release, it is focusing on a "re-edition of a legend," and its new M4 CSL brings the next generation of its M-series that focuses on a track-ready vehicle that borders heavily on power. Note that from 2021's M4, this new car has 40 horsepower more than the BMW M4 Competition and is heavily based on the M4 GT3.

The BMW M4 CSL is part of the BMW M GmbH's 50th anniversary that will use this opportunity to release a vehicle that would have massive ties to its roots. BMW said that the M4 CSL is taking on old-school racing passion with modern-day technology that would take the car to new heights.

The M4 CSL brings a whopping 543 hp total power output for its engine, with a massive weight reduction of 240 lbs. It also focuses on its chassis enhancement to make the car feel more rigid for its maneuverability and an overall better driving experience.

BMW M4 CSL to Start Production in July

CSL stands for "Competition, Sport, Lightweight," and the car focuses on unique body enhancements that will make it look and feel sportier than the previous releases. It also gets the special 50th anniversary BMW badge, new bucket seats, and carbon integration to make it lighter.

The engine is a 3.0 CSL that the company brought to its first attempt at the European Touring Car Championship in 1973.

BMW said that it is entering production by July 2022, with an unknown date for its release and only 1,000 units to produce. It will sell for a base MSRP of $139,900 plus a $995 destination.

BMW and its Performance Vehicles

German manufacturing, luxury features, and superb performance are three of the top adjectives that would describe a BMW, as it is a company that borders on its engineering and design for its fame now. One of the top variants in its lineup is the luxury-focused venture in the i-series, with another take on i7 xDrive60 that it released earlier this year.

BMW's most famous line in its car is the M-series, as it is a collection of performance and track-ready vehicles that most enthusiasts modify and set up for races. The company released its new take with the M760i release that will feature the last V12 Twin Turbo engine BMW will produce out of its factories.

Now, the company is back toying with the M-series, as it will produce a variant that aims to bring more performance compared to its last release of the car. The M4 will receive the upgrade and not its top-of-the-line M5, one of the most famous vehicles in the world, from its predecessors who won races and championships globally.
