iPhone Users Complain About iMessage Deactivation Issue | Here's How to Reactivate Your eSIM Account

Recently, some iPhone users have been complaining about experiencing some issues with their T-Mobile eSIM account. The bug reportedly deactivates their phone number on iOs apps such as iMessage and FaceTime.

What's worse about this problem is that there's no way that they could reactivate their contact. However, a prominent reporter says that there's a solution to this problem that he has tested by himself.

It's indeed annoying to see your eSIM account removed from your device. To add, some people see no success in reactivating it. Fortunately, a prominent report shares the potential solution to this deactivation issue.

According to Macrumors, on Friday, May 20, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg recently tweeted out his own experience with this iMessage fiasco. The journalist continued that there's only one solution that effectively worked for him: replacing your old SIM card with a new one.

"There is a very nasty iPhone and bug where iMessage and FaceTime for a device's phone number will randomly deactivate and there is no way to reactivate it. The only solution that worked for me is getting a new physical SIM card. An extremely disappointing issue," Gurman wrote.

Gurman added that someone had told him to try another solution. It's by removing the eSIM account from the device to set it up again. However, he said that it's complex for most people to do.

Furthermore, Gurman pointed out that the person who assisted him with his problem was from the T-Mobile store. The representative has activated a physical SIM for his iOS phone.

Before he went to the store, many people visited it. Most of them shared the same problems with Gurman.

iOS Versions Affected by the Deactivation Problem

In another tweet, Gurman posted that the iMessage deactivation issue persists in happening in several Apple operating systems such as iOS 15.4, iOS 15.5, and iOS 15.6 beta 1.

So far, these are the only OS affected by this problem. At this moment, we still do not know if the issue also exists in previous iOS versions.

All over Twitter, T-Mobile customers continue to tweet out their sentiments about their experience with iMessage. Some say that Apple is aware of it but choose not to release a solution to stop it.

Using iMessage on Chromebook

In other news, Chrome Unboxed reports that you can rely on using cloud OS to utilize the iOS messaging app. To begin, you need to first set it up.

You will be required to have a macOS device that operates on macOS 10.10 Yosemite or later. Of course, you also need to use the AirMessage app, which will serve as a host machine portal.

After downloading the AirMessage server, begin the setup process by double-tapping the file. You will be asked to link your account to it. It is recommended to use Google account for this part.
