Epic Games is no stranger to releasing free games every once in a while and just recently, the platform decided to give out "Borderlands 3" for free! The game, however, won't be free forever and players will have to download or "purchase" it for $0 until May 26.
Epic Games Launches 'Borderlands 3' for Free
According to the story by TechRadar, the free "Borderlands 3" comes as part of the platform's 2022 "Mega sale," which usually kicks off with a popular title. Within the sale, gamers can expect other popular titles to be available for free every week for the span of four weeks in a row.
Aside from the free games, the platform is expected to host heavy discounts as well on other titles. The first game Epic Games is rolling out for free is the highly successful loot shooter game by Gearbox, "Borderlands 3."
'Borderlands 3' Free Until May 26
Gamers will only be given until May 26 to download the game for free. The good news, however, is that when "Borderlands 3" will no longer be for free, gamers will be presented with another title.
In order to get "Borderlands 3" for free, gamers will need an Epic Games account in order to "purchase" the game for $0. After purchasing the game, it will automatically be added to their account which they will then remain free for them to keep.
Game Won Four Out of Five Stars
The article by TechRadar tackles whether or not it is worth it to download "Borderlands 3" for free and their answer is yes. The publication reportedly gave the game four out of five stars in their review detailing that they were happy with its "immense arsenal of weapons and its deep RPG systems.
The publication stated that the game is perfect for those that enjoy mindless action and are looking for a game that is fast-paced and chaotic while also including a lot of first-person shooting, jumping, and grabbing in its gameplay.

More Free Games to Follow After May 26 on Epic Games Store
The game mechanics were also described to be very interesting as players get to choose a class and invest points on certain skill trees. Players will also be able to play "Borderlands 3" as they choose whether they enjoy being a "ranged big-hitter, to an amongst-it brawler."
"Borderlands 3" reportedly also includes humorous dialogue along with an interesting storyline for those that want more than just mindless violence. There is also a strategic side to the game wherein players have to choose between different weapons and find out which suits them best as shown on Lootmon.
Luckily, the game is not limited to Windows PC users but is also available for those on Mac. Gamers that are interested in the game can play it for free once they "purchase" it from the Epic Games Store until May 26 when its $0 price expires.
