Audi's Apple Music support is finally coming to its vehicles, giving luxury car owners a more personalized listening experience.
The luxury car maker Audi and the renowned tech giant Apple are taking their partnership to the next level.
The audio streaming service of the Cupertino-based tech firm Apple Music, which rivals Spotify, is now coming to select owners of Audi vehicles this year.
Audi's Apple Music Support
The infotainment system of Audi is now getting Apple Music directly to some of its cars available in various parts of the world, such as Japan, North America, and Europe, as per a news story by XDA-Developers.
Audi announced that its direct support to Apple Music is making the overall listening experience of its car owners much more seamless than ever, ditching both USB and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Apple Music support of select Audi vehicles allows car owners to access the audio streaming service, which houses millions of sounds and podcast episodes, without requiring them to use their smartphones.
Thus, it removes the messy USB cables that some car owners use to connect their mobile devices to play catchy tunes from Apple Music.
On the other hand, some folks have embraced wireless life by using Bluetooth to connect their smartphones to the infotainment system. But it still requires them to have their mobile devices to play content from the streaming service of the iPhone maker.
So essentially, the new Apple Music support gives Audi users the freedom to listen to their favorite playlist on the streaming app or check the latest podcast episodes out there.
To be clear, the standalone Apple Music on Audi cars makes it independent from the whole Apple CarPlay system, which the carmaker has been offering for its vehicles.
But it is to note that CarPlay is the reason why car owners still had to connect their phones to play Apple Music tunes on their vehicles. It also requires Bluetooth or USB connection to access other functions like navigation or receiving calls and messages.
Apple Music on Audi: Which Models Are Getting It?
According to a recent report by Trusted Reviews, the full-blown integration of the Germany-based carmaker will start rolling out to its new 2022 models.
Audi states that all of its new vehicles coming out this year in Japan, Europe, and North America are getting the new standalone Apple Music app.
Once its customers start driving their new Audi vehicle, it should get the Apple Music app via its over-the-air or OTA update.
